It’s back to school—and back to the garden!
As the school bells ring and hallways fill with the buzz of a new academic year, Nemas Gardens is thrilled to announce the return of our Afterschool Garden Clubs across Prince George’s County. These programs aren’t just about planting seeds—they’re about growing minds, nurturing wellness, and cultivating community.
Afterschool Garden Clubs are designed to complement the school day with enriching activities that blend science, creativity, and wellness. Students learn how to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers while exploring topics like sustainability, nutrition, and environmental stewardship. The garden becomes a living classroom—one that teaches patience, resilience, and the joy of watching something grow. It’s not just about planting seeds—it’s about cultivating curiosity, responsibility, and teamwork.
As we dig into a new school year, we’re excited to see students reconnect with the earth, with each other, and with themselves. We’ve been on the move, attending back-to-back-to-back Back to School events, meeting families, educators, and future gardeners who are just as excited as we are to get growing. We can’t wait to see what this season brings, and we’re proud to be growing alongside our schools and communities once again.
Let’s make this year one to flourish!
