Team Work
At Nemas Gardens, we are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team working together to bring sustainable gardening and environmental stewardship to life. Our leadership team is committed to providing the highest level of expertise, creativity, and care to each project, ensuring that every garden we touch thrives beautifully and sustainably.

What We Do & Why We Do It
Agricultural education plays a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable farming and food security. It empowers individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to innovate and adapt in an ever-changing environment. Nemas Gardens is dedicated to this mission through our diverse programs. Our Garden Clubs bring enthusiasts together to share knowledge and foster community spirit. The STREAM Program (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integrates interdisciplinary learning, encouraging young minds to explore the interconnectedness of agriculture and technology. The Apprenticeship Program offers hands-on training and mentorship, preparing the next generation of skilled farmers. Finally, our Community of Growers provides a supportive network where members collaborate, share resources, and grow together. Join us in these initiatives to cultivate a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
Meet the Team

"Whoever controls your food source controls you."
Kevin "Q " Alsop
CEO & Founder
a minority-owned business nestled in Prince George's County, MD, was conceived by urban gardening enthusiast Kevin “Q” Alsop. Driven by his dual passion for cultivating healthy food and fostering community self-sufficiency, Kevin envisioned a venture that not only creates sustainable and ecologically friendly urban gardens but also contributes to social-emotional learning through dynamic learning spaces within the school system. Our commitment extends beyond creating garden beds, aiming to instill a sense of connection, well-being, and environmental consciousness within the community.
