Nemas Gardens invites students, families, educators, and community members to a free Community Night on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Beltsville, MD.
Expect to Grow With Us
This engaging, educational evening is part of Nemas Gardens' ongoing mission to empower local residents through sustainable, at-home agriculture. The event introduces Nemas Gardens’ initiatives, team members, and hands-on resources designed to teach individuals how to grow food at home — promoting self-sufficiency, sustainability, and community connection.
Featured guest speaker Kevin Q Alsop, CEO of Nemas Gardens, will share his inspiring journey from city life in Philadelphia and a six-figure career to becoming an urban farmer and advocate for homegrown agriculture.Attendees will receive a free Herb Garden Starter Kit and access to resources to start their own gardens at home.
"Our goal is to inspire people to grow with us — not just food, but purpose, confidence, and healthier communities," says Alsop.
A Special Invitation
This family-friendly evening also includes a raffle and opportunities for students and parents to learn more about agriculture, community wellness, and environmental education. All community members and neighbors are invited to attend and participate. In addition a special invitation has been extended to the following local schools:
● High Point High School
● Duckworth Regional Center
● Beltsville Academy
● Calverton Elementary School
